Default 77 Euro #398, 5-speed

Hi

I have been following posts here for quite some time now, especially with regards to early 78mod 928 stuff. There is just so much great knowledge in here! Knowledge you cannot find anywhere else. Based on this I found out that I had to become a paying member

I thought I would create a tread for my car, wherein I can ask questions or share some knowledge with others as I am doing some small projects. My projects are embarrassing small compared to what a lot of other undertake here, but hey perhaps there is someone else who is at the same level.

Short info on car:
I imported it myself from Heilbronn, Germany back to my home in Oslo, Norway in 2008. Before its' life in Germany the car lived in France were it originally was sold New. The car was first time registered in Nov. of 77 and has VIN #398.

I will post some Pictures of it soon, for now I will just give a link to some Pictures from the latest owner in France as he has them on a webpage.

Nice looking car, interior looks like it's in great shape! I like the color combo as well, don't see many silver cars with that color interior!

Great looking car with >172,000 miles! Can you tell us how much Euros to acquire this car in Europe?

Welcome (officially), to rennlist.

Great looking clean car. My 78 (#225) has the same interior, though it is getting replaced at the moment.

Looking forward to seeing more recent/detailed pictures and following along with your adventures with her.

Are there many 928's in your neck of the woods?

Brian.

Car looks nice Jorn. Same original interior as my USA 00076. I am curious about the yellow lenses on the fog lights - are those original?

I have this very same car in US spec. #241 is being restored by Jim Doerr. You can see progress on his website or in the Porsche section of Ferrari Chat.

I know well the last French owner and I have to check, but I think I may know the previous owner also.

I wonder if the front fenders are original.

Hi

Thanks for all the kind feedback

Great looking car with >172,000 miles! Can you tell us how much Euros to acquire this car in Europe?
Well prices have changed a lot in Germany since I bought this in 2008, I paid only 10900 EUR for it, it was priced low because of the lack of history.

I have this very same car in US spec. #241 is being restored by Jim Doerr. You can see progress on his website or in the Porsche section of Ferrari Chat
I am following it on 928Classics You are lucky to get such help, but it must be quite expensive I would imagine.

Thanks Brian It seems the 928 is groing in popularity in Norway, but still there are quite few of them around. Also prices are very low compared to 911. Good, un-molested, early Euro-spec cars are quite seldom to see for sale I feel. And when People try to charge what they should be worth, they just do not sell.

Car looks nice Jorn. Same original interior as my USA 00076. I am curious about the yellow lenses on the fog lights - are those original?
Hi, yes they are. If you look at the PET you will see a mark in the column (F) for France. Unfortunately I had to change to Clear lenses for the parking lights due to Norwegian regulations, but I still have the yellow lenses for high beam.
Thanks for the intensive washer tank by the way David, I have cleaned it and moved my orignal decal over to the one I bought from you. I was quite satisfied with the result.

I know well the last French owner and I have to check, but I think I may know the previous owner also.

I would love to get in contact with some of the previous owners as little is know about the history of the car. I have been in contact with the owner who has the website I linked to. Got a lot of great info from him and also some nice pictures.

I believe the fenders are not the ones that was there in 77 as I believe those did not have side-indicators.

As some of you know I have started work on the washer system. I was wondering if any other 78 owners could weigh in on the correct routing of the washer lines. The below pic shows how my hoses under the hood are currently connected. This solution with the 4 90deg angled valves are not according to PET-sketch. So I have ordered new parts according to PET which uses only two 90deg valves and two T-shaped valves. Anybody knows how this should look on an early car?

Hmm, paying member now but still the picture dissappears when reaching 100percent loaded, hmmmm
