Getting a lot of use out of mine - best tool I ever bought. I have the 5000SLX which is long enough to reach the lift points, short enough to fit between the tyres. When not being used I just push them under the car so they take up zero floor space

I need one of those...

Tired to lift the car with a floor jack!

Had my 7000 lb. Quick Jack for several months now. Love it. Use two rubber blocks on each jack point. It is a lot heavier than the 5000 making portability a 2 man job. The 5000 can be lifted by one person. I have a full size SUV which is over 5K pounds is the reason I chose the 7000.

Thanks. There are those of us including myself who cannot vertically fit a 2poster in our garages. So, solutions like this have a real use.
NOTE: there are a number of mid rise scissor and functionally similar lifts available. Can those of us who have these types of lift solutions please post them in this thread?

I looked at various scissor lifts for ages before opting for the similarly priced Quickjack. What decided it for me was the completely clear space between the ramps, and that it was low enough to drive over without having to put down planks either side.

The through access is great though - as much from POV of jobs you can do without having to think about which way car is pointing as just being able to scoot under with no obstruction.

I like the fact that it's open access down the center, the ad states 21.3" lift, can you roll around under the car on a creeper, and do you think there is enough clearance to drop the Trans and TT?

I bought a 5000lb Kwik-Lift and it's been a life changing experience. ;) Simple, safe, and relatively inexpensive. I found mine used for $800 which included all the options, but I need to order an additional cross bridge. https://kwik-lift.com/

I think it would be too cramped under there for a creeper. Never attempted a tranny or TT drop so not sure, but if anyone here claims to have done those jobs successfully on stands than it would be OK. There are limits to something with a relatively low lift height, but it is fantastic to get the car in the air so quickly and easily.

Ok, so I've chosen the BL-5000SLX quickjack as well. The similar mds-6k has higher lift, but the platforms are strangely shorter. Further, I don't quite yet have the head room for a scissor jack.

Advantages of the quickjack are portability and full access to underneath center. I must add that the md-6xp scissor lift with 43 " lift seems desirable in that its a great height to work on the car while on a wheel around chair. Seems better than standing. But that one will have to wait.

WOW...how did i live without this for so long. I have the PORKEN bars which are fantastic, but the QuickJack has just made my life so much easier. no more schlepping a jack from side to side...shimmying up jack stands and wooden blocks etc.

I used the bigger rubber blocks as i think the smaller ones will allow the frame of the lift to touch the under body of the car.

The spacing is 143 1/2 inches from pax to driver side as measured at the pivot point front or back on the inside edge of the quickjack assembly. I made a wooden "stick" the same length so i can quickly get the set up the same each time..and marked where the rubber blocks should go.

Height fully extended. With a simple addition of a wooden blocks, below the rubber pads, i can add another 2 inches to this easily.

This is the equivalent height of a jack stand. I obviously still use the jack stands a safety back up when under the car..

I have had a scissors lift for a number of years now and absolutely love it- I use it all the time. My 76 year old back can no longer do grunt work underneath a vehicle on stands with limited clearance (2004, that meant replacing all the rear suspension bits on an XJ40, including rebuilding the diff- I would give up cars first if I had to do that again. I think.) I'll be glad to supply links to my various posts here and on GJ if you are interested.

get one side right, then lay down the stick ..monkey with the pads and it will be bang on!
