Quiet drive
So yesterday morning I went for a drive by myself. I had received a phone call that my mom had passed away. I had a one hr. trip to her home, and I took the 928. Somewhat mello exhaust and a non working radio, windows down, cool morning air. I felt safe, like in a cocoon, with time and quiet to think. These cars are therapy in more ways than we know. Well that's all I have my friends, I just wanted to share that with someone who might understand.
Thank you JD

First, all my condolences to you and your family for the lost of your mother.
Yes driving these cars all by yourself can be really therapeutic.
I love doing this.
I fully understand.

My condolences to you and your family.
I know how you feel, except I had to take a flight

I thank you all for the concern. I'm happy I had the opportunity to express my thoughts here. I was unsure if this was where to bring this up, but I needed to get it out and figured it was 928 related and some of you would understand.
Thanks again, JD

JD ... so sorry to hear of your loss, and please accept my condolences too.
I lost my mother five years ago, and there isn't a day that goes by without thinking of her. My father left her when I was 17, and I supported and protected her from that moment on, and so had a very close relationship with her all her life, even though for the last 20 years I've lived in another State.
When I first took delivery of my GTS, in the State where she lived, she kept looking out the window at it, and commenting how beautiful it was, when I called in to show it to her. She always said she would have loved to drive race cars, and used to spectate at many of race or rally events I entered (often with her hands over her eyes) .... so I took her for a drive in the GTS, and I remember her reaction (at the age of 84) when I floored it I have that memory, every time I drive my car or work on it ... although, like you, I find solitary driving to be therapeutic anyway.
Drive your 928 and let the fond memories come back to you ... smile .. shed a tear ... it gets easier with time Sharing your thoughts with others helps. My best wishes ... Dave
