This works vice versa: here in germany you can not register a car imported from the US without the original american title and this american title is kept by the authorities that deliver the new german Fahrzeugbrief/title.
I believe proper way to handle Fahrzeugbrief on export was to cut left top corner of latest brief at 45 degrees 2" clip to make it invalid in Germany but available for next registration. That paper might have slipped through to first owner in US unless US took it away back then. Keeping previous county title might be newer thing in at least in EU countries. This was done mandatory in EU as late as only past 10-15 years to prevent registering multiple scam same VIN cars in different countries using same papers.

Hi Andrew, what do you think? Should I also start an early 928 white-manual-Pascha green-Project as a younger twin of your cars #1/2?

https://www.ebay-kleinanzeigen.de/s-...4819035-216-54

Unfortunately Bremen is a 350km drive (one way) - not so easy in Corona times. The car in Bremen (9288100899) should actually be a 240HP car (model year 1978)?

Best regards - take care,
Bernd ;-)

Are we sure this car was always white? First registration claim of May 1976 is a year and a half before 899 was built.

Hi Andrew, May 1976 is of course nonsense - 300HP also. So far I could not reach the seller. I also believe the car to be painted.

It has been toooooo quiet --- this thread lately.
Does time really stand still in the chill silence of winter storage?
Do the ghosts of our cars origins linger about casting shadows that no-one sees?

Do our cars dream of their crazed owners return with stored electrons ready to bring them back to life, and fun and summer?

Do they dream of summer evenings out?

Or, do our cars dream of gathering from near and far to celebrate all things - great and small...

a combination of it all...
