Euro 1981 Option list
Hey guys, new to Rennlist...holy cow what a resource!!
I recently bought an '81 Euro S with a manual...Pretty damn fun! I was curious if there was any other location for the build sticker with the option codes...it is not in the normal location under the rear carpet. Did the Euro cars put them somewhere else? Thought bout getting a CoA but I don't really want to spend $100 just to find the information. Any alternatives to getting this info??
Car had very little history when I bought it and I'm just curious what it came with from the factory.
Thanks!

First off, welcome. As you noticed, this place is an amazing resource.
A Euro in California is a bit of a rare beast. Any clue on the import/federalization/smog history?
Read the "New Visitor" sticky before you do much else. Many, many questions can be answered with the info in that thread. It makes you look like you have at least tried to do some research before you throw a question up, as opposed to asking a question that is thoroughly covered in it.
And as far as VIN info/build data/option codes, try this:

Last, but certainly not least, there's a bit of a tradition on here:

Gotcha, thanks for the tips and patience fellas.
I did do some digging, as I didn't want to be "that guy" just throwing obvious questions out there, but clearly didn't dig deep enough. Thanks for the link! I'll be sure to check out The "New Visitor" spot.
Car is registered in NC and is simply spending time out here while I try and fix it up for my father, who is the official owner of the car.
Pic of the 81 Euro.
Newest additon...
Also owned is a 86.5 5spd...I'll get pics of that one up soon.

Very nice euro S manual!
Rob and others will help and assist in getting option codes for you in the above link
Also, if you join 928 owners club (928oc.org), they have a VIN check for yourself!

And thanks for the VIN info/build data/option codes, very quick response from Rob although not as much info as I'd hoped. No exterior color or interior confirmation, and I thought most of these early Euro cars had an LSD...apparently not so lucky on mine.

Unlikely that she'll buy any of that BS, but it's worth a shot.
And yeah, the info Rob and a few others have access to doesn't include exterior color or interior info.
You have to get that from Porsche.
And the fun part is that the info Porsche has may or may not be correct.

Anyhow, great looking cars, both. You and your dad picked a couple beauties.
Looking forward to more interior/engine compartment/chassis pictures...and maybe even a girl friend picture...then we can give more sound advice...since...if she's a super model or something on that line...Jerry's advice can be thrown out the window...lol.
