Kicking this S4 around- Thoughts?
I've always been partial to the early cars, but this is too clean to overlook, especially when it's from my hometown of 300 people and I don't know who's it is. I know where it is, and I've driven by the spot where these pictures were taken a million times, but had no idea there was this stored back there.
I'm not good with s4's, but price seems accurate just as long as he has all the paperwork he says he has. Let me know.

I don't think it's garnet red. Could be cassisrot, but just a shade too dark for that. However cassisrot/burgundy was a common trend. Looks well done up, but $19k is a lot of scratch. Needs to be all up to date on engine work for that price.

I agree looks like Cassis Red Metallic. But if privately owned why no license plate? That's a dead giveaway that it is a dealer on Craigslist. Often a dealer will take pictures of the back of the car and carefully avoid the license plate area. Just like pictures of the interior where the shot of the driver's seat barely gives a hint of the side bolster because it's trashed or not at all if really bad. However I like the color combo and if the PPI is good and most major things are up to date TB/WP, Top end refresh, MM/OPG go for it.

I may have seen this car at the top of the hill where the RG Bridge is, a couple of years ago when passing, but when I went back to check on it is was gone. Now I am about 250 miles from where the car likely is; but if I was closer I might be able to have a look at it for you. In the pictures it looks pretty darn good to me.
Your home town must be either Cotopaxi or Westcliffe.

Well, it looks nice. In and out.
And it has a few of the 'odds & ends' that are often missing. Tools, compressor, stickers in the back.
Trip odo shows 6 miles, so the odo gear is likely intact (at least it is now).
But...
No engine pics. I would suspect that the jump post cap & cover are there, given the overall condition of the car (tools usually disappear before JP C&C), but I'd want to get a good look under the hood. Ad says "timing belt" done, but was it done right? Most folks say 'timing belt and water pump". If it has the records, it should say.
No plates is a bit odd. Could be a dealer, could be a 'flipper' (unlicensed dealer). Could also be someone who parked the car for a while, for a wide variety of reasons. Some good, some not so good. None of this is a "deal breaker", but I'd want answers to these questions before buying.

These cars as a rule, are a crap shoot. It looks pretty good to me, but then I only buy black 928s. I've got 20K plus into my 89, and it still needs the top end refreshed, interior, and paint redone.
When I compare it to my Pantera, it's still less than the suspension on the Polecat.
I'd go for it, but try to get the owner to come down on the price. Get the best deal you can.
