Clutch Hydraulic Parts Measurements and Differences

Hello !
I hope everyone is having a great weekend. After 2 days of heavy rain (5 inches total on the garden rain gauge) the sun shines bright on My Old Kentucky Home.

I have tried to put together a list of parts to inspect/measure/possibly modify while installing new clutch hydraulics.

It seems from my reading that if several of the replacement parts are of the wrong length, the clutch will not completely disengage.

I know I need to compare "old and new" lengths of clutch slave rod, clutch master cylinder spring, and clutch master cylinder piston... am I missing anything else?

Any hints would be appreciated.

Thanks and take care,
Dan

Parts out, for your inspection and comment...
Both old and new slave and master cylinder sets are marked FAG, does this denote that the "old" parts are also replacement parts?

The slave cylinder push rods are of equivalent length...

There are the typical, obvious differences between old and new MC internals...

So, I know I need to mod the lengths of the spring and piston,
but
how exactly would be the preferred way to do this?

Again, thanks for your time and wisdom ! ! !:bigbye:

last picture,
cut the thin portion of the new piston off, its about 4.5MM,
Put a slot in the cut off end so it wont seal the port.
Cut the big end of the new spring off to match the length of the old spring.
fit a new supply hose from reservoir to the clutch master, it is now black silicone

Got it.
Thank you sir.
You have saved my bacon yet again.

What?!

I've got some official blue hose carefully saved. Do I have to get black hose to keep up?

When does it end? When does it end?

if you have been smart and hoarded the blue hose then you will be able to maintain originality,
but otherwise the new Brembo black hose is the same stuff just a different color.

Does anyone know what the length of the piston and spring should be for a 1983? I just removed mine and suspect it has been replaced in the past because it looks exactly like the new one. I learned by now not to assume anything is correct. The pedal travel went all the way to the firewall with the old unit.
