Tuesday, Carmel, Ocean Blvd
Is anyone involved in getting our cars onto Ocean Blvd the Tuesday of Car week like last year? We had a good showing and in the best spot.
Does anyone have contact info?

IIRC, Tom M from the Official 928 PNW Washington Region was point on that effort. Tom, are you listening?

I was assisting Adam a couple of years back (2014). He was the PCA point man for the first 928 display at the Concours on the Avenue.
I think Rich DeAndrade (blau928) is setting up something for the event this year....

I spoke to Doug Freedman in Atlanta. He told me that if I was really interested in getting a slot on Ocean Ave, Tuesday, I would have to pay the $250 fee plus a very very generous donation to become considered. If I got a slot it would most likely be among various odd ball cars, mostly British. He hinted that $1000 would almost guarantee a slot. When I called back and told him politely that I declined his offer he appeared to be quite upset. I'm sure he is very good at raising money, but not mine.

There's always Werks on Friday and the global exotics portion of Concorso Italiano on Saturday
Global Exotics is $185 and it comes with 2 tickets to Italiano which are about $125/each so enter the car and see the whole show for cheap!!
My lunch in Thursday is free to attend, you pay for your food and booze unless you can convince me to pick up your tab !!
If you attend the lunch, you will be able to see the Quail show being setup... entry on Friday is $800/ea or something similar...
There are options to come to Monterey Car Week on the inexpensive side.....😄

I'm all in at Werks and we will see you for lunch at the Cantina. We are towing our 67 Airstream down to the KOA in Prunedale. We will catch up with everyone lunch and wonder thru Quail. I'm not twisted up about not being on the "Ave"> For me I would have to get up about 4am to get there in time. Too old for that stuff. I'm actually more excited about driving our "red car". I entered it in the concours part of Werks. With Greg motor, fresh paint and the interior is flawless...it will show well. I don't expect to win and don't care to but it will be fun.

If anyone wants to have their car detailed or paint corrected during car week please let me know. Andy Kay is going to be doing sessions at my warehouse on the outskirts of Monterey on 12-14 August.
Cheers 🍻
