Hey guys,

Any idea what a 1993 GTS, Manual, Black on Tan, 70K miles, very clean and serviced go for?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Going strictly off your description and assuming it's accurate: $80K - 90K

Mileage is getting on up there, too high for many collectors. If it were half that or less, the value could top $100K.

It used to be Willhoit prices were the exception; now one of his GTS' is the lowest priced on e-bay.

Quick/unscientific check of Autotrader and Cars.com asking prices ...

That has puzzled me. I would expect him to keep pace pricewise. Unusual that others would have cars much nicer than his. Yet he is under them. Saw one on the Bay for $149K, some 4K miles on it. Did anybody buy Jaeger's?

I think Willhoit has a pretty good handle on the market.

His cars seem to go for pretty close to the ask. It may take a while (sometimes a long while), but that's not all that surprising for a car that has this small of a market

I think what is happening is that all the stories about how "The value of the 928 is going up!!!", along with what 911s did recently (although the market for those has softened some) have a lot of people convinced that they can start asking sky-high prices.

With a few notable exceptions, a couple of which may well have been "auction fever", the value on most cars hasn't gone up that much. Not yet anyway.

And there seems to be a bit of a backlash (backup? backflow?) on the 928. BaT is a good example of this. A few cars went for really good money (really good cars), so a lot of them came out of the woodwork. Now BaT really doesn't seem to want them.

And all those 'notable exceptions' were very low mile, original cars.

For the OP, with his miles of 70k, the value isn't 'super high' right now. I don't think $70k would be a bad ask. But I wouldn't expect it to sell at that price tomorrow.

Did Chuck's car sell? That would be a good benchmark for a manual GTS with 70k or more miles ...

Not yet, but some knowledge of his situation factored into my opinion previously stated in this thread. I agree, his car is a relatively good comp.

We're seeing this in the UK too. A few late 928s mainly GTS and GT - terrific examples - sold for historically very high prices up to £50K. That has brought some very 'dodgy' cars out asking very strong prices. Buyers of these cars could become disillusioned fast, or if they stop short of buying just get disillusioned when inspecting them and finding they need a lot of things fixed. I think the higher 928 market is pretty fragile, so is vulnerable to any negative word-of-mouth.
