Default 85 main vacuum feed throttle body location.

Chasing some issues on my S/C 85 ran across this.
Main vacuum line seems to be connected to the wrong port, currently it is attached per picture. Looking at the TB it should be connected to the port that provides vacuum at idle with plate closed, correct me if I am wrong.
Thanks

Diagram shows it is Connected correctly, I have the front dampener connected to the vacuum T not off of the front TB as the diagram indicates. What am I missing?
Thanks

The front dampener should be connected to the main vacuum via 7-way splitter, as shown above. It's confusing though, because they show a connection off the front of the throttle body that appears to be connected to what could be taken as the front dampener, but it's really the diverter valve(?) for the air pump. One of those emissions-related valves, anyway.

The blank nipple in your pic above should route over to the thermoswitch, which in turn connects to yet another valve, this one controlling when gasses get sent to the intake (more emissions stuff).

I've just been fighting through this stuff myself, so I think I have that right...

My confusion is that the feed hole for the main vacuum is located above the throttle plate.
The thermo switch feed hole for vacuum is below the throttle plate. I believe it is called off throttle vacuum so it seems they are reversed but not according to the diagram.

I believe the main feed now connected should use the vacant port due to the feed hole feeling full vacuum with the throttle plate closed.
Just changed out my Tps switch and want to figure this out before it goes back together.

Top feed picture is where main vacuum it is now connected.

Bottom feed picture is where the TS is supposed to connect.

Clear as mud, seems like you would want full vacuum at idle which is what you get if the connection is reversed, I am still 😕

It just dawned on me full vacuum would be felt on the top hole due to its connection to the intake tube. I have been chasing A/F issues with this car and hoping I would find someTHING that was not connected or bad and thought this was it. Thanks for your feed back.
