Default Replacing top part of faded window switches

I thought I read a thread on here about removing only the top part of the switch, rather than replacing the whole switch for the late model 928's. I can't seem to find that thread. Has anyone ever done this? How easy is it? Am I better off replacing the whole switch?

Thanks!

928MS has a set of overlays. I've used them in mine and am pretty happy with how they turned out.

Just make sure to follow the directions. Like most things here, prep is 90% of the work

The tops are not available as a separate parts. There are some transfers that can be used to replace the motifs.
New switches are pretty cheap by 928 standards.

Is it wrong that I've been looking at pad printers and wondering how hard it would be to get a pair of custom printing plates with the window up & down icons on them made? There aren't a lot of cars whose window switches wouldn't benefit from being re-printed.

Anyone in the printing industry got an idea what it would take to get this done?

I bought those overlay stickers from Jaeger (?) for the center console and hatch pulls about three years ago. They look factory and really help spruce up the interior... little details that really stand out.

I got a set of overlays from Nicole at 'Hooked on Cars' before she closed up shop.
Not sure if those are the same ones, but they look similar.

As noted, prep (cleaning) is very important.

Placement is too. I managed to get the images on mine right on top of the old ones. You can't see the faded/scratched old ones at all.

I had minor issues with bubbles, but a quick poke with a needle and a good smoothing down solved those nicely.

They look pretty nice.

These stickers were included in the goodie bag at a recent Frenzy gathering.

Wow, those are awesome, eh! Clearly, someone got them printed. But are they selling them so I can buy a set for my 928?

Question

There are no back lit aftermarket switches available anymore?
