Two pictures that Wally took and sent me. I was busy doing the loading and he got a couple of pictures of it. Oops, inverse order, but . . .

Thanks Guys (I think). Wally was pretty fond of the job someone had done on the front seat bottom inserts, and he even recommended them to me for the driver's seat back repair. However I am a bit more picky than him and find the job on the seat bottom, as shown in the picture, is one of the worst jobs I have ever seen.

My plan, whether "acceptable" or not, has not fully developed. One thought is that I don't really care much for the early seats, but mainly because they look kind of "fat" in terms of the thickness of the upper part of the seat backs. So I think I am going to restyle them to take care of that. Then, I think I will follow what is going to become a trade mark of my own and that is to redo the insert "cushion" sections like I did with the sport seats in that older thread, and replace the four of them in the bottom and back with five each. See in my avatar.
My earliest thought about the color of the seats was to possibly change the color to a leather color that matches the exterior bamboo beige color. Then I thought about going to another brown, also called bamboo, sort of inbetween the exterior and interior.
Now I am thinking more about just matching the present darker brown and simply doing the two seats over, so I wouldn't have to redo any of the rest of the interior, which appears to be in very good condition still.
My plan is however still in flux.

It is leather covered, but has a pad over it right now. I think it may be taped down, so I will have to wait until I can properly remove it. Wally said it was in nice shape; that he put the cover over it just because he had had one in his previous 944. I did run my hand over the concave section of it under the pad and did not feel any delamination of the leather, which is fairly common, even when guys say it is in good shape. The Pod does have a crack in it that comes over the front top edge, under the cover that's on it right now. I'll be able to cover the pod in leather even though it is vinyl now. I think it is also black like some of the center console items.
I wont be able to get to some of the investigation items until later since I cannot get into the interior while it is in the trailer. I'm going to leave it in the trailer until the trans filter and new gasket arrive and then I'll be able to back it out far enough to do the trans work while it is on the ramps and not have to jack it up. Then I can take it out and check out the interior further. I don't even know if it has a spare and Wally wasn't too sure. Same with the jack. It was not behind the tool tray so might be with the spare. Then it wont have the compressor, if they even put one in the 82.

Thanks, Dave. I did open the hatch and removed the spare tire cover and found the spare. It is in there upside down and has a plastic bag under it with something in it, but I didn't take it out yet to see what else is there.

Fantastic find! The more I look at your photos, the more that colour grows on me. I don't think I've ever seen a shade of brown like that before....stunning!!! Yet another reason why the OB's are so unique.

Hi Mark. Yours looks a little less yellow than mine. Probably about as much less yellow that mine is from my son's Sahara Beige 911, which is about half way from mine to Porsche Talbot Yellow. Like I mentioned above, I found 9 different versions of Beige in a Porsche color line-up.
I like yours too. When I get mine waxed and with some better looking wheels I hope it looks as nice as yours.

Nice find! Interesting color too. You don't see that one much but it does look good.

I am more inclined right now to install a set of staggered D90s in 7 1/2 and 9 inches. I think I have a set without the RDK sensors in them. I even have a set of Michelin AS Plus tires in the correct sizes, or I may try to match what's on it for wider tires for the rear, since what's on it are nearly new, also Michelin - Pilot - tires.
