Hi Shawn --
Nice write-up and a great playlist. Most of those tunes are already in the player. I'll top up with the rest of the collection. Thanks!

That's brilliant, Shawn. Brilliant.
I recently played that last note in Low Spark of High Heeled Boys for someone. I peg it as the most magically dissonant note, ever. Then again, I don't ever want to hear that sound coming out of my engine.

Shawn,
Brilliant!!! you have inspired me to take a long night drive, with Tania...
Well written and thought provoking, (as you wrote, albeit in reference to a particular musical piece, you would have to be "dead inside" for it not to be...)
I particularly love the line "the 928 is not a joy riding car; it's a tool, a road weapon designed to destroy distance and crush time", none more so than with your musical compilation playing to the glowing dash lights, my beautiful woman seated alongside, and the darkened growl of our beloved 928 travelling to nowhere...
Thanks again Shawn.

Incredible article Shawn. Great driving music and very shark evocative. You have a gift for writing too!

Brilliant article Shawn! Your words flowed beautifully, like the lines of our 928s. The only thing that would make this article better for me, is if it was in a printed magazine or book that I could hold in my hand.

Since 'come out' is the verb, 'pretty' is the comparison adjective, then you may use 'well' as the adverb, and not the predicate-adjective.
Haaahahhahhahhahaaaa!! Jus funnin' ya. Me like it.

While, it did not come out well, neither did it come sick. But better that it come out good than that it come out badly, or goodly.

Nice work Shawn. You can tell a lot about an individual by his music, I burned the grooves off a few of your albums from the 70s.
To this day I feel the low spark of high heeled boys remains relevant yet greatly misunderstood. I always interpreted the chorus to describe the tiers of the western fractional reserve lending financial system. "You" in the Lyrics is the consumer at the bottom of the system. the percentage you're paying is interest, and living beyond your dreams is excessive borrowing for lifestyle. The man in the suit is your banker who is making a living on your dreams. The gun that doesn't make any noise is a massive short squeeze or market crash. The high heeled boys are the very few at the top of the system that orchestrate the market bubbles and position themselves to profit from crashing them. The low spark is how it's all done in secret without the knowledge or warning for everyone else in the pyramid.
I may be imagining this meaning, but every time I hear that chorus I think of 1987, 2000, and 2007.
The percentage youre paying is too high priced
While youre living beyond all your means
And the man in the suit has just bought a new car
From the profit hes made on your dreams
But today you just read that the man was shot dead
By a gun that didnt make any noise
But it wasnt the bullet that laid him to rest was
The low spark of high-heeled boys
