Default Rough start issue

my 85S has a weird issue at start up - it always starts, but it always seems like it doesn't want to. Turn the key, the starter whirs, and then catches, and then the car feels like it is about to stall - the revs drop real low, then the idle catches and it settles in to a nice steady idle. Sometimes it takes a crank or two, and some foot on the gas pedal to keep the idle from dropping off and stalling. The car drives great otherwise.

Thoughts? Battery? Grounds? ISV going bad?

Have you replaced the main earth strap in living memory. I had a similar experience a year or so ago, replaced the ground strap and the engine immediately turned over quicker and fired up much more positively.

The strap appears to be vulnerable at the ends where the braid is fastened to the lugs- open the heat shrink and you may see signs of corrosion and broken strands.

if no fuel in the vacuum lines,
then swap in a new ISV,

has the MAF ever been rebuilt?
how about the age of the temp 2 if its old then.
is the O2 sensor original if all of the parts are original.....................

then it would be good to swap them,
also do a new CPS

I'm curious if you were working on the car before this problem started.

No; it has been like that since I picked it up last summer. It starts up easier the warmer outside it is. The car has had almost everything redone, though, based on the giant stack of receipts I got with it, including a top end refresh.

I will attack the grounds first and see what result I get.
