Got the panel fix this weekend.
Big thanks to medipedicman.
I used a slice of one of the extra brackets for reinforcing. I'll post a picture at some point.

Ah. I understand. This (almost) does what you wanted to do:
Just remove one of the '/' in the '[//IMG]' sequence (I forgot how to escape the markup's special characters...) and you're good to go.
