That looks pretty darn repairable. Thanks Rob!
Let me find a box so I may ship it to you.
Btw, I'm pretty excited about the bird poop. Wonder if it's OG?

The thing about repairable, and Minerva will be a great beta test case, is that my guess is a few heat cycles and it will sag at least as bad as it did prior to the repair. I'm thinking the long term engine bay heat causes a change at the molecular level, weakening the material considerably. So you use a heat gun to reform it, but that will ultimately prove to be temporary at best. We'll see, William and Rob can keep us posted.

Well, that's a load off my mind. Mine is so droopy that I was sure that there had been a minor fire in the air filter area, kept poking around looking for other fire damage!
Would it be worth reforming it with a heat gun than installing a layer of the silver heat shield to protect the top part that is most affected by the drooping? Maybe even make the silver shield removable to give the original look when the hood is open for public viewing.

^^^ it would be easier to install the later full-length metal strip that eliminates the dropping issue.

And for the melting issue on the lower section, foil may be the way to go vs. the original silver paint (which clearly didn't work).

Revived from the dead.

Did anyone come up with a solution? #338 is missing hers as well.

I’d love to know how William’s car is holding up. It must have had a few heat cycles by now.

My thought is I wonder what it is for, heat, sound or maybe both? Then I wonder what it is made of for what it is supposed to do.

I have sold a few of these. LHD is NLA but the RHD version is available cheap at circa $250. Easily adaptable for LHD and a close match to the original. 6 left in Germany 927 556 089 02
