Simple Stereo units
Looking to replace my current unit.
Looking for an easy plug and play with our stock wiring.
No need for an extra amp or base.
Pretty basic.
Blue tooth with CD ..
Any current suggestions?
Is the CDR 220 still a good choice?
Have people added a separate antennae instead of the embedded one in the wind shield?
Thanks

Blau Toronto 420 is what I am using. It is fairly basic but has more complex functions if needed (for 99% of people, they wont).
It has CD, bluetooth, aux, USB, an SD card slot, and provisions for a mic for the bluetooth (it's $20 and worth it).
All you need is the adapter harness or you can cut and solder the original harness to fit it if you desire.

You could also buy a discreet antenna (looks like a black box) and mount it under the dash if you don't want to shell out $$$ if you need a replacement windshield.

Thanks,
I do need to replace the windshield at some point.
I like the look of the Blau.
Cant find it unless I shell out 50.00 for shipping.

I think Blaupunkt went out of business not that long ago (Steven at SW Stereo mentioned), so support if needed could be sketchy. The board favorite seems to be the Pioneer DEH 80PRS. I went old school Alpine (rebuilt) in my car. I strongly suggest changing the amp in the stock location to the Rockford Fosgate PBR300x4. That makes such an enormous difference over the stock amp, even with the stock speakers. You essentially mount it in the same place so the impact is minimal, but the sound quality increases many times over stock.
