But I agree with you, I've never seen any car get bid up to the original amount the first time through on subsequent auctions. I've noticed the same phenomenon on eBay auctions quite often...
I'm not sure what the question is. I must be missing something. A seller can lower the reserve.

The reserve was met, the car sold; now it's back for sale again. We are all just speculating on why... No real question that needs to be answered.
