In order to put the 928 in to context, my challenge to you is to post a pic of the cars in the street where you lived in 1977.
I will do my best to do so myself when I am next at my parents house. |

That was the '77 Lemans pace car.
Last I knew it was in Germany owned by a nice guy named Joe. Car had an exterior color change and was cosmetically upgraded to 'S' spec. Interior looked mostly original. Thank you in advance for your help. |
Note how good the interior bits fit. The gaps between the console, glove box door etc.

The pictures of the 928 together with the very early silver roadster are my favorites. I think that is the very first Porsche. It has the front and rear bumpers removed and the panels rolled under, which I think in the condition they found it in. They had it in the Museum when I was there in late 1976 in that same condition. The Museum then was simply a large room at the factory with several cars in it. I had gone there hoping to tour the factory, but they were shut down for model change, I think, and a tour was not available. Since then they have restored the first Porsche to it's original condition with bumpers.

Anything else? Can't believe that the 928 was released 40 years ago. Time really flies... Still living the dream. :jumper: |
Good stuff, thank you for sharing.
