Default Going to get my 85 from Texas

Getting excited!!

Flying out February 17th to Austin. Picking up my 85 5 spd Pearl White. Mark Robinson did the inspection on it and I had him do some of other things to it for me.

I'm hauling it back to Richmond VA on a trailer. I would drive it back, but the wife wanted to come and she is not as adventurous as I am.

I'll be in Austin a couple of days . Anyone in that area have any favorite dining places?

Here are some pics. Mark says the rub strips are not factory and were put on with some adhesive. I hope so! don't care for those.

Window Sticker

Nice car, congrats! Not familiar with that one, who's car is it, Mark's?

Tons of good places to eat & drink ... BBQ and Tex-Mex are our two staple dishes, but many others to pick from.

I bought it off of a guy in Round Rock, who got it from an older neighbor who supposedly had it for most of its life. The Car fax puts me as the 4 th owner, so the story matches up.
I was given Marks info as a good person to inspect 928's and work on them.

I reached out to Mark and he agreed to inspect it and act as my proxy for the purchase. He said it was a good car, and made me aware of the issues it had.

We worked out an arrangement. At the time I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to continue doing my own work , as I was struck by an SUV while stopped on my motorcycle, so I hired Mark to do the top end refresh, fuel lines, brakes and some other work I won't go into. I had Ben from Legends do the intake.

Car looks great, and of course you are in great hands working with Mark R. Keep this thread updated as your travel plans firm up. There's a chance (client schedule driven) that I'll be somewhere in south Texas at that time.

That looks great, Chuck! I'm delighted things are working out so well after some of the things you have been through. I've seen pictures of his work before, so when I read that Ben did the manifold work I wasn't surprised at how good it looks. One Q: it may be old hat to some, but I haven't seen blue caps on ignition wires like that before. Beru?

Hi,

Thank you for the comments. Mark R. sourced them I believe. He has a few products he designs and sells. Maybe we can get together on a clear day when it comes to it's new home. It has been a while.

I'll be sure to do that. Barring a flight delay or cancellation, we should hit Austin at 5 PM on the 17th. Would love to meet up.

Yeah Jadz (Jim Doerr) on the list has an 87 Pearl White. Beautiful and it inspired me to buy this one. Unfortunately Jim moved to Michigan so this part of the world is lacking a Pearl White 928. I had to buy this and restore order to the universe.

I had the intake work completed by Ben at Legends. All the photos I have, including the intake photos are below. Excuse the folder organization.
