Rear Fuel line replacement 84 928s

Good evening,

I've been looking everywhere and cant seem to find it. I am getting ready to replace all my rubber fuel lines. i have most of what i need already however i seem to recall that there's a few fuel lines running close to the quarter panel in the back.

Can some one confirm and if you have a diagram that would be great.

Thank you

There is and it's not available any longer. Roger carries the Greg Brown alternative.

Not sure if the rubber lines differ between 83 Euro CIS and 84 L/LH, but a few years ago I found one of the front hoses going over the RHS cam was NLA. Fortunately the relevant hose was in excellent condition - no cracks or burns or damage. I was able to buy all the stuff in the rear readily, but it was a while ago. If GB makes replacements , you cant go wrong.

This is from the PET Catalog. You can download from the link posted in the New Visitors sticky. I just did mine and went with all GB lines from Roger like Sean mentioned.

The diagram for the 86 is somewhat different than the setup for the '84. Here are pics of the fuel lines on my now-sold '84 at the top of the engine. If memory serves me correctly there are three on the top (2 on drivers side as seen in the first pic, 1 on passenger side in second pic), and one on the passenger side of the engine that goes down the side of the engine (not pictured). Should be easy to find the last one if you follow the other lines that I pointed out.

Note that I used clamps on mine--this was before I knew that Greg's hoses existed. I have since used his on my recently purchased car and they are great. I believe that you can use clamps on the hose on the top passenger side that you can see in the second pic without any problems as the hard lines are made for clamps, but I think that the rest weren't designed for them.

If you want to replace all of the fuel lines in the engine bay you should also replace all of the short hoses on the injectors. They use hose N-020-281-1.

Slight hijack you guys, but did you source the GB line from FPR to firewall?

I don't think I have the GB option on the S3 for that line, unless I change to an MY88 FPR?
Anybody know specifics?

On the S3 86 there is a length of stock clamped EFI fuel hose from the FPR to the console adapter on the top of the bellhousing and then we have the GB hose from the console to the fuel cooler.
Same applies if you use the early 87 FPR on the S3 86 because of a PorKen chip upgrade.

Thanks Roger, that does make sense now. And I am using the 87 FPR because of the PorKen upgrade.

On a USA 84 you will need to change all the fuel injection hoses and seals.
7.5mm EFI hose - short lengths from both fuel pressure regulators.
Also the two fuel hoses on the right side of the engine.
These hoses will differ depending if a fuel cooler is fitted.
We stock all the hoses needed.

Roger also has a spreadsheet that he and I worked on last summer for my '84 which includes all those lines.

Thanks guys, I have done all my injectors and the 2 visible ones that you can and the ones under the air filter. Bought that from Roger. For some reason I thought there was some hoses hidden in the rear. I'll have to look at those diagrams closely. Going for a full refresh here
