Default Difference between 85 Harness and 86 Harness

I had buried this in another thread, but was hoping for more exposure.
PET shows different part numbers for the S3 wiring harnesses:
85: 928 607 002 01
86: 928 607 002 10

Kevin speculated that it is to account for the change in the diagnostic port/TPS sensor bracket. This may be the case, as that would change lengths by an inch or two.

Since I am swapping an '85 engine into my '86, I'm trying to figure if this will require any real re-engineering to the harness .

Maybe take a look at the wiring diagram in the CD/WSM set? If you are lucky one diagram will cover both years and point out the model year differences.

I'm going to go with that, and report back any surprises.

I've replaced a cutup front and rear wiring harness in an 86.5 with good stock (non cut) ones and you will not have any issues installing the engine between 85 and 86(.5) cars.

The only differences I can think of between 85 - 86's are Anti Lock brakes, Third Stop lamp, Rear AC, and none of these have to do w/ the engine wiring harness.
