I thought I'd do a RMB on my 85 and it opened up a can...
1st try was the straight pipes with a sreened tube and fiberglass packing left over from my crf450x. Local muffler shop did the wirk for $30.
It sounds great from 2890-2950-almost Italian, but a Carolla with a coffe can else wise. Also no back pressure back fires.
2nd was a small box resonance chamber, I fired up the old wire welder. Sounded great but only occasionally. Blew all the packing out the rear.
Today i spent another $28 and 4 hours and built the chambered one.
I've got about 8 hours in the experiment and less tha $84 bucks total.
Mid level growl and fairly docile at idle. "Something Suspicious" exhaust. No sticker included.
