5 speed Weissach #155 for sale on BAT

Well purchased at 33k. Like others have said on BAT, still lots of upside to come in the next few years on that one.

I thought it would go higher, too.
I do like the trend for my #142, though. Not sure my (Dennis's) car is as clean as Hoi's (definitely not as original), but I think it's close.
Congrats, Hoi!

I'm a bit underwhelmed by the final sale price to be honest. Time of year perhaps? 928 Saturation on BaT? OBs not inflating at same rate as later models?
I'll regret not pulling the trigger above $33k on this even more over time.

Does yours by chance have the Euro cams and matching cowboy boots? I've seen some pics and videos and love that one.
I've been waiting years for a nice Weissach to go up for auction and I love the results. Can't tell you how many times I've read asinine comments on how they're only worth a few hundred more than a standard '82.
How many miles on 142? Mine turned over 52K this summer and I think she's now going to be more of a garage queen from now on. Will also be doubling my agreed value coverage next week.

Pretty surprised at the results. My preferred reserve was much higher, but BAT basically forced the issue. Bad news is, this number was not close to what I had in mind to lessen the pain of selling the car and knowing this car will easily double again in 5 years.

Funny that when I clicked on the guys name it turns out he also was a bidder on my SAAB...small world...
The market has risen considerably to get to 33k as noted by the great Bailey...can't hurt to 'hold' at this point unless the right offer comes. I think this one went below where it should but there were issues with the presentation here. Mainly time of year (between holidays, winter coming), and working AC is always a HUGE issue with any collector car and should have been addressed. I'm also not quite sure that the 'specialness' or rarity of the Weissach edition in this condition was really expressed or understood. Or maybe I'm just way off base and didn't read the tarot cards correctly. Regardless, was likely a 'record' price, was just hoping for a higher record.

Agree with time of year being a factor. People starting to spend money on holiday presents. Wifey gifts can get pricey especially if they need to counterbalance a $30K classic sports car that's about to show up at the homestead in a few weeks. BaT is adjusting the number of auctions as well. Only a month ago there were 50+ cars up for auction. Now in the low 40s.
