I would suggest to use a new tensioner roller, new bushings, and a new belt.

What is the turn time on the cam pulley coating I have 4 and will need 2 of them pretty fast
Then those folks are not for you. LOL

Already replaced all that with new above. Folks above stated that is where there belt tracks. I'll pull the 1mm spacer as you suggested.

Do you have a picture of the spacer you are referring to? The one I have is thinner than a credit card and covers the oil pump seal. I grabbed a set of feeler gauges to get a visual on 1 mm thickness and the thin spacer I have is a quarter the thickness of 1mm. Maybe the thickness of a business card.

When I disassembled my oil pump, it had a steel gear on it, but it still had the spacer/washer on the front between the gear and shaft seal. I guess that won't go back on. In my case the timing belt was tracking virtually dead center of the gears though. I'm definitely interested in your finding Kevin.

Have you torqued down the flywheel bolt (with thrust washers, pulleys and flywheel) and tried it then? Maybe the sprocket on the crank isn't pushed all the way on.

I don't doubt Porsche's engineering, but why remove the spacer or why did the aluminum gear one need it?

And according to Chris his spacer was present on his oil pump shaft with the steel gear just like mine. I bet there are a lot of oil pumps with steel gears still sporting the spacer.

Here's a picture of the space on a spare oil pump shaft.

the spacer is made to spread the shaft loading so the aluminum gear will not peen onto the shaft,
the steel gear is made of metal thats as hard as the shaft its riding on,
thus the spacer can be removed.

NOTE that picture looks just like the 1MM spacer i am referring to
