Intake cleaning q?
One more for the experts. Did not pressure wash the entire upper engine upon advice from you all. Been wiping and scrubbing by hand (will post some pics in my other ongoing thread later).
But...my throttle housing and the elbow underneath are a crudfest with years of oil, gunk, etc. caked on.
My intake runners and manifold are also pretty dirty.
So, since everything is apart, is there any reason these particular parts cannot be sprayed with degreaser and then pressure washed to clean them?
The throttle springs and switches are still on the throttle housing, but I would think they are ok.
Thoughts? Thanks all-

NOTE if you have a 5 speed and you spray any liquids onto the engine to wash it ,
there is a good chance that the washing liquid will run down the clutch release arm and then drain into the throw out bearing.
This will quickly destroy your TOB.
NOTE the TOB runs at engine speed

Stan - thanks for the words of caution, but please advise...
I hope I am ok. I did all of the cleaning in situ with a brush, rags and simple green or citrus gunk. Did not spray any water at all in the engine bay. Just the cleaners from the bottle onto the top of the vee and heads.
I cleaned the runners and throttle housing (pressure washer and simple green) with them off of the car and in a bucket to hold them steady.

Brake cleaner and aluminum don't get along all that well - for that matter, neither does Simple Green or Greased Lightning or the like. You should really use an aluminum safe cleaner like Piston-Kleen.

Thanks for all the replies guys - not sure where you get aviation version of simple green...
I tried several things and the best cleaner for the oil/scum residue by leaps and bounds was plain old 87 octane....melted the mess right off. Dried everything good and I think we are good to go.
Thanks again all -
