Free to a good home
So the old fuel cell was out a few days ago, and now I took the aluminum can out. At first, I wanted to have a new bladder made to fit the old can, because I figured the can was already there, so....
There were two problems with this:
1. A new bladder to fit this can was over $1800 - to put this into perspective, Fuel Safe sells a new fuel cell for around $800 plus options. Both would have the same FIA certification.
2. I really questioned the need for such a huge cell - 27 gallons. For what I want to do, that is really excessive. I'm running some hot laps, not the 24 hours of Le Mans.
Also, I didn't like how tall the old tank was - stuck up about 6-8" taller than the rear deck, which means I would have been actually carrying fuel HIGHER than the stock car. Weight up high = no good.
So in any case, out it came, and I am now offering the old cell and can for FREE - you pay actual shipping cost. I figure it will run about $100 to ship it because of size, but I don't know for sure.
The fuel cell looks to be in good shape, but the foam inside feels brittle. The can is perfect. Pics taken to show how it mounts in the car.
No one wants it, it goes in the trash.

So I drove my 9 to work the other day and one of my new co-workers says" I havent seen a 928 for along time,do you know a guy named Bob Devore?" Apparently he used to date Bobs daughter back in high school.

So the fuel cell showed up today, really happy with this unit. The workmanship is outstanding and it is so light as to be unbelievable. Got a fuel level sender with it as well, something the old cell didn't have. It's not a drop in, and will require some fabrication, but nothing really hard.

6.5L NA engine build by Greg Brown. Over 500 HP at the R wheel. Wheels size, front 12" and 13" rear, run 12 or 13" slicks. Won GT2 class in POC many years ago, still can be top finisher today with POC or PCA club racing.
