Are you torquing the lug nuts evenly?
Anything on the mating surface between wheel/hub? Between lug nut and wheel?

Bearings check out ok, look great. Legs are all torqued to spec. Surface is nice and flat......

I'll check the rear as well, see if maybe it js traveling from the rear to the front. But being as the steering wheel vibrates, in leaning at no.

I'm drawing a blank on what a front block off plate is. Is that the rigid plastic front panel in the wheel well?

On the rear bearings, if bad they may not always make a lot of noise. Take the axle out and spin the bearing with your fingers. You can feel if it is good or not.

Bill the plate is the hard plastic thats attached to the inner fender supports in front of the front wheels,
the fender liner is then bolted to the block off plate

Didn't someone find after much investigation that his brake rotors were unbalanced?

Doesn't explain the sudden onset, though, unless the old tires happened to be mounted in some magic position. Here's a crazy notion: do shock absorbers ever fail when a car is put on a lift, from the unusual extension?

3 tire shops later. Tires were off balance. bad. almost 3 oz on one, 2 on the other.....

no vibration now... got the first shop to pay for the balance at the others.

Why 3 shops? Was the 2nd shop wrong too? Glad to hear it's resolved.

Finding a good tire shop w/ mechs that know what they are doing is like looking for hens teeth... Glad you got it resolved. Remember how much I spent and worked on my 1st car trying to ID and cure the same problem... Wheels, tires, TT bearings, steering rack, etc... Never REALLY got it all the way out - of course I wanted it to be "perfect" at speeds above 80 much less 130... which it should

We've all been there, brother. I had tires put on my 944 in San Jose way back when, vibrated like a jackhammer. Took the car back to the same shop and a different tech found that they had been "counterbalanced." This is when they forget to strip off the old set of weights and put a new set of weights on opposite. Stupidest thing ever. I'm pretty lucky with my America's Tire outlet here in Fresno, 3 sets of tires on my 928 over the years, never a problem.
