Time to start my 928 project
I have a (project) 1987 S4 5 Speed in the garage, and it has only been started a few times a year but I keep buying stuff for it. I haven't posted since 2010, and I bought my car in 2008 (I think). Where does the time go? Been busy with family, work, motorcycles, the usual stuff.
I just scored a set of brakes, and bought some wheels awhile back (year or two). The interior needs to be put back in, and re-covered with something as all the vinyl, and leather were removed by the PO. The car is not pristine, and never will be, but it will be a nice driver. Cars nowadays have so much power that it will seem slow, but I haven't seen a 928 on the road in a long, long time. I think I will do some things my way, since it is not worth restoring to original.
Looking forward to getting it registered and driving!

Have you ever driven your car?
Good luck with your project and welcome back.
There are a lot of folk in this forum who don't necessarily put things back as the factory intended. Ask questions and see what kind of answers you get. Sometimes, someone has already thought about or done what you may intend and there may be consequences that you may not have thought of.

Yes, I drive it around the block once in awhile. It is extremely loud as the exhaust was never finished by PO, and goes from some ceramic coated headers to dual 3" cats, and pipes, through Borla mufflers and just stops at the transmission. The cats are blown out, and it is LOUD! It has not been registered since 2005 or 2006, and was on non-op when I got it. The tires (old SO2's) are shot, and the right rear has a "flap" about the size of my palm that has separated from the tread, so it could go at any time. The list is long.........

I will sacrifice and volunteer to take on the continual care of your car here in PA, away from the smog controlled California, for nothing! I will do this since we are all Rennlist members/users. Nice ride!

Thanks all, for the words of encouragement!
I stopped by a friends house today and he had a surprise for me. I scored a set of "Bigger than Big Reds" 997 GT3 racing calipers and two-piece floating rotors. Here they are next to my Big Red rotor for a size comparison. They were off of a 944 or 968 turbo race car, so the hats will fit the 928, and I got the aluminum master cylinder as well. I just hope the 380mm rotors will fit inside my rims......the calipers are monsters as well....they make the big reds look medium.
