Did any S4/GT/GTS models ever not come with an air pump?
As least back in 87/88 I see that a catalyst was an option for the cars. I am wondering if any of those non catalyst cars also did not include the air pump system and more specifically what did the fan shroud look like. Did it have the filter housing or was that omitted.
My cats are long gone and I just completed removal of the air pump and respective plumbing.
I have an extra fan shroud and was thinking about cutting off the filter housing and blocking it off, or adding a screen to allow airflow cooling.
I'd like to see if there was a factory solution before I do any cutting.

Can I suggest...
Carefully pack and store all the pieces you now consider"surplus". At some point in the next NN years, having all the original pieces will significantly improve the market value of the car. Perhaps more immediately, your market to the south (California) disappears when the air pump and plumbing are missing, as a buyer would need to source and install all those pieces before title processing could complete.

Sorry Mongo, I do plan on keeping the air pump for purposes that Dr Bob suggests. All the parts I am removing from my car are being overhauled, cleaned and put in properly labeled boxes for future owners.
Based on the info above I might not do any mods to the spare shroud. https://benno928.wordpress.com/2016/...r-pump-delete/
I did the same thing with the cooling air flap system as well. Mine was none functional so I removed it while I have the bumper off.

My next project in flight is getting the washer system working again.

Thanks as always for your help and opinions
