Great showing this year with 5 928s in a sea of Carreras.

Very cool. Mine was the gold "bronzit" one next to yours. We've been going with a big German car group for about 10 years but generally only one or two 928s show up. Great to see so many this year.

I had some great conversations with other Porsche owners that started out with "I had one of these back in the 80s..."

Yes. That's correct. It's the Granprixweis 87 that is currently down right now.
I always keep one up and running, while I take the other one down for work.
Unfortunately, I haven't touched the 87 in months, due to other priorities.
The curse of having a three car garage is that it allows one to become lazy.

Yes. So did we. It was our first PL, and we had a great time too. See:

Sorry I missed getting a chance to talk with you Chris.
You guys were already parked and gone by the time we arrived.
Then, after the race ended, we were the very last 928 to leave the field.
Of course, we had a much shorter drive home than most of you guys.
Did you drive all the way back down to Gainesville on Saturday night?

Thank you very much!
I can't even begin to tell you how many positive comments and compliments we received.
On our way in, and on our way out, it was slow stop and go, with people walking along both sides.
We had the windows and sunroof open enjoying the weather and the throngs of people.
About every 20 feet someone would say something about our car.
Some of them shouted out to us, and others we just overheard talking about it.
Such a pleasure to be amongst true car folks. Everyone seemed to know what it was.
We even heard one teenager (after looking in) say to his dad "oh wow, dad, it's a stick".

No, we stayed at Chateau Elan and drank at Paddy's until late into the evening. Its a bit pricey, but packing 4 guys into a room and splitting the cost makes it pretty cheap.

I too had some really great comments from people and a lot of enthusiasm for the 928. Its nice to see these cars that were once looked down upon by the air-cooled faithful get some love and respect.

I'll keep an eye out for you next year.
