Fuel hose part no. 928 201 368 00

I'm busy taking apart the rear of the car and one of the things on my list is replacing the rubber fuel hoses. I've removed the plastic cover on the front in the rear right wheel well and it revealed this:

After taking out the compensating tank and hoses I ordered all rubber parts plus the shut-off valve, but unfortunately part number 928 201 368 01 is NLA:

My old one looks fine, but a closer inspection revealed some tiny cracks one the top end where it attaches to the compensating tank:

The cracks appear to be just on the surface, and as it a vent hose I think it may be safe to use it again. Am I right?

Any thoughts or suggestions are very welcome...!!!

Why not replace it with a good grade Fuel line, as you said its a vent, I would not reuse it if it were my car.
Good to see that you are doing them, I like to pull the Fuel Pump cover on them just to see how that area looks too as it's a great place to attack dirt and moisture.

Thanks Dave, will try to source some decent quality fuel hose then.
Probably the specs are mentioned in an earlier thread, will look into that.

Good idea to check behind the cover: in my car it was filled with dirt and leaves.....

Probably not the best pic but plenty of dirt visible......
