Hello Daniel,

Maybe so.

I have the car back from the shop. They did a fab job. Still has to go back for an hour our so for touch up and sunroof adjust.

I have not found a 12-volt signal from the alarm system to modify the LED lock posts. I have found a 12-volt signal from the central lock system when doors are locked. Though not and indication of a primed alarm, it works great for adding the flashing LED door lock posts (easy install as well ). I will continue to look for a possible set-up for giving 12 volts to LED impulse senders from a primed alarm.

Is your shark tucked away for hibernation yet?

You don't need a lift to check it. Find any upward or downward curving 90 degree intersection, from a stop, accelerate into the turn, that will unweight the inside rear. It should be obvious to tell the difference between zero and 40% LSD at that point.

A few weeks back an LSD was on ebay, not the entire transmission, went for under $500, I believe 928 Int'l has the whole enchilada for 1200; A dealer nearby quoted me $1200 to 1500 labor to install. If you are doing just the internals, don't go to just any shop, shims are involved. HTH

Actually 220 is rare. Far fewer were imported into the US with it. And impossible to find as a post-instal. 5-speed 220 is rarer than thin girls in Seattle. Sport seats are even rarer. If you're wondering, give the Big 3 a call and ask the price on one of those babies. Usually the answer is: "don't have it" ....... My S4 had 220 to start, and now also has S4 sport seats. And full leather. And no speaker grilles. Exactly as a monstrous big-engined sportscar should be .... to me. Very reminiscent of '60's and '70's Lamborghinis, Maseratis, Aston Martins and Ferraris. At 292rwhp, that is some FAST-moving leather ... hehe

My '87 has it.

Watercooler, I'd be interested in more details on your flashing LED door lock mod.

Sorry for resurrecting this old thread, but I came across this post and it perked my ears up. My 86.5 has 5-speed, LSD and pinstripe velour sport seats. Is it really rarer than thin girls in Seattle?

Haven't been in Seatle but I would say LSD is rarer.

Those few cars that we brought to Finland when new almost always have LSD. Used imports from Germany more ofter don't than have it. Germans didn't see it's value as most of the year there is good driving conditions. $2000 was cheap price for it when conditions are really bad.

Default 5sp, 220 and factory sport seats

Woohoo!

Old thread but good news, so I feel I'm in good shape with 5sp, 220, and factory option sport seats. I just realized several weeks ago about my 220 option code.

928SP has a listing in the TIPS section that shows LSD percentage... about 40% or so it seems

I count myself lucky in that my S4 has option 220...

5 speed and 220. Not very common in the Middle East at all.
Not to hijack, but alex70, Scott G and others with 5sp/220 '87 S4: Does the diff make noise when turning at low speed? Mine does (with Mobil 1 75W90) but I'm considering redline 75W90NS and some friction modifier. However I'm conserned this could "cancel" the effect of the otherwise great working 40% mechanical diff.

Whoever ordered my euro originally chose every option including LSD but unfortunately left one out - sport seats. Even though they are heated and fully adjustable i still think sport seats would be nice. I have never even seen them in person.

Kolbjorn
my 90 GT makes some diff noise at low speeds, while making sharp turns. Driveway stuff.

220,,,,LSD,,, PSD,,, I love doughnuts in the morning, afternoon, evening

Only problem with my PSD is that it turns itself off over 20 or 30 not sure which. It almost seems like it only ingauges from below 5mph. I kind of like a car that can get a little sidways.

If only your car was 5-speed, it would be perfect!

My 84 Euro was full leather, A/C, non-sport seats, non-LSD.
