Default Has anyone used these LED's?

These are LEDs that you install in place of the 3 prisms that reflect the light to the instrument cluster, and look to be direct plug and play into the sockets for the existing lights.
Not dimmable though..$50.00

Look to be a good deal..

Anyone tried them?

thanx

I had them in white in my 84. Worked great--much brighter than the dim stock bulbs. I bought them from the seller you linked to as well.

I got them in blue from the same seller but found the brightness level disappointing. Maybe white would have been better. Have also bought rear hatch lock insert and recovered leather armrest from him. Very pleased with those.

I was going to go with the blue. Now going to try the white I think.

FWIW, I bought replacement LEDs and reused the existing Twist-Loc mounts. Way cheaper, and plenty bright, IMO.

I removed the reflectors(it's not a prism)where most of the reflective material had baked off. Cleaned it with scotchbrite to rough the surface. Sprayed on Locktite 30544 spray adhesive on the old reflector section. Then laid Reynolds Heavy Duty Alum foil on the surface and trimmed with an xacto knife. Replaced the bulbs with red lens type and assembled it. My dimmer pot was cleaned with Deoxit. Total cost for the whole car was ~$21, and my dimmer works.

I installed this ones in the original position

Much better than original and cost you a few dollars incl shipping.

I'm now working on trying this LED strips on a spare instrument cluster.

They have double sided tape on them and will fit on top of the existing prism. Will hide behind the long "prism cover", not sure about the cluster with 3 separate covers.

Made some photos for comparison what you can do for a few dollars

First what I have in the car now.
3pcs T10 with 9 5050 LED (cool white) in the original "twist's"

Photo makes it a bit dark. I have a LED dimmer on it and it can be a bit more bright but I like it like this.

Next a test on a spare cluster with 4pcs of LED strips with 3 5050 LED on each, also cool white.

Too bright for me but might be good with a LED dimmer.

Both is pretty easy to do and doesn't cost much.

I did the same. Very good results after I corrected the problem with the contact wires.

Very pleased with these, they are dimmable, and only £1 each

Not so impressed with these, as the quality of fit is extremely poor, but once they are in and oriented correctly they results are good, and only 20c each.

Unfortunately the Hand Brake LEDs still need to be fixed as they are not lit

UK Kid, do you have a part number or link for the first one you pictured? Are they dimmable with the factory dimmer, or do you have to add a separate LED specific unit?

I think my instrument lighting LEDs are different, but the same basic idea. And I have those same idiot light LEDs, and agree completely...pain in the *** to get oriented just right...I had to pull a bunch out and re-bend the little pins...but once in, they do a good job.

Looks like they are available from other vendors:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/10X-T10-501-...RXzn2l&vxp=mtr.

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1PCS...08.4.77.xk0b0r.

https://www.amazon.com/JDM-ASTAR-10p...BQAK9WFWWH3VRK.

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/10PC...0023.10.gjxFkZ.

I think I will give them a try.
