Default Interesting no start problem, instrument cluster related

'83 US 928S. Some history on the car. The car was abandoned at a shop about seven years ago, mechanics lien. While it was resting in its grave it developed a water leak in or around the rear hatch. The interior was in a constant state of humidity. I rescued the 928. I had the cluster out before I attempted to start the car to clean the contacts etc. The car runs and drives without the cluster installed. Today I reconnected the cluster, when I attempted to start it, it wouldn't. I narrowed the problem down to the cluster connector on the right side of the cluster (ignition switch side). With the car running I reconnected the left cluster connector, car still running. When I connected the right cluster connector the car died immediately. What in the cluster has failed to cause this problem? Thank you.

No gauges work. With the key off and out of the ignition a faint glow from I believe the check brake light indicator. I'll double check but I'm almost positive I didn't have the connectors backwards.

Issue resolved. MrMerlin you are correct. The two connectors on the right were backwards. Thank you for the response.
