what is the vent from the OEL add to the air intake?
After sitting in storage for a couple years I just finished the timing belt, seals, waterpump service for my '78. Anxious to drive her again.
While I was in there I noticed and want to address that rubber vent hose that goes from the OEL fill to the air cleaner, it is cracked, and I cant seem to find a replacement. I notice that it is simpy a rubber hose, but has that small coolant line running inside of it. Is this necessary? Can I just replace the rubber vent hose with a rubber hose, and then run the small coolant line outside of it, or just cap that coolant line? If that special assembly is needed, does anybody know where to get one? thanks, Matt |
Yes, you will have to jury-rig it as that hose is NLA.

OK, so its OK to run the coolant line outside?
Do you know why it was run inside? |

I had the same failure on my '83 K-jet Euro. I got a new one from 928Intl about 3 years ago. I think it was $18+ship. Give them a call, you might luck lout and they have one for you.
