Default Help in Identifying Calipers

I've had a set of front and rears in a box for about 10 years.

Casting numbers are

20.4564.00 and

20.4563.00

All have 86 above that.

Any idea?

Since one piston is larger than the other, my guess is they are 86.5 calipers.

I was looking to do a conversion to bigger brakes on my '78. I take it I bought the wrong calipers?

Why do you say that? Early and later 32V calipers bolt up exactly the same way. You will not notice a difference.

Related question:

I know the early US S cars use a different spindle and the calipers don't just bolt up to an OB like the S4 brakes will. My "new" car is an '82 with the competition package - does that include the ROW S brakes? Or is it just the suspension and spoilers? I can't tell by looking at them if they are the same as the brakes on my previous car...

thanks!

All 82 cars had S brakes (large single piston type) They have the same spindle as the Euro S cars up through 85 (we got 4 pistons in 86.5, they had it all of the 86 model year).
