Wink New key fob and replacement keys

I got one of the newer led key fobs for my birthday (via Roger) and now want to get a replacement key to fit it.

I've looked at keys4classics.com, but their replacements all seem to have the plastic end on them.

I've emailed them asking if they offer the keys with out the cap, but haven't gotten a reply.

Anyone know if they have keys that work with the new style fobs?

Thanks!

Yes, they can also cut just the blades that snap into the Porsche key head.

+1. They cut the blanks allowing you to insert into the fob. I used them and was extremely happy with service, response and product. Come highly recommended and used by quite a few in the Landshark community!

Ordered an MR9 battery adapter today. It's getting harder and harder to find replacements so this should fix the problem.

Sent my inquiry for a quote off to them last night.

Itoolio, thanks for starting this thread.
I am watching as I am interested in another set of keys for the Red Witch.

Thanks!

Ryan,
I can make a new key for you. Mine car came with only one key (luckily the long one) and I wanted at least one spare. I tinker a little with casting metal so I figured I could make one cheaper and faster than sending off to Australia. I churned out two this past weekend and they fit right into the new key fob head I got. I made one out of brass and one out of sterling silver because, why not. I posted a picture of my finished key in the "what did you do today" thread a few days ago.

Got my keys back from Keys4Classic and it fit like a glove. I provided them with pics of the existing key and they were able to match it up A-OK. No more using a key without a head on it

Matt - thanks for the offer, but I had already send $$$$ off to them.

Posting a picture of your key is a great way for someone to take the picture, send it to Keysforclassics and now they have a key to your car.

I think he's OK Sean. He modified the picture so that if someone did duplicate it, they would have the key to your car. Nice thinking Ryan.

Rick - glad you picked up on that....nicely done.

Sean - I pixelated the edges of the key to prevent repro, so I should be OK. Even if it wasn't a picture of your key.

I got a key from my local Porsche dealer. They sell really nice fobs too. Is this not a common solution to the problem?

What mean you by this 'local Porsche dealer'?

Yes and no.

The dealer keys are significantly more expensive than the Keys For Classics ones.

And because the dealer keys are cut based on the VIN (from the records), there's no guarantee that they will work. Some of the records are wrong.
