S3 Fast Idle After Warm Up
Hi Guys,
Done an intake refresh on the S3. New leads, rotors and caps. New (rebuilt) maf new hoses etc. Powder coated intake, water bridge etc. Car starts and runs fine. It starts with a high idle when cold and then you can hear the engine note drop as it reaches temp. Then about 30 secs later the idle starts rising and stays there. I can here the TPS click on closing and opening. Car drives fine apart from it seems to lack top end power. Does not miss or hesitate just no mumbo after 4K. I've had seven 928's so I know how they should go. This is first time I've done any major work though.
Any help / insights would be appreciated.
Cheers
Scott

Assuming a new ISV you almost certainly have an intake leak somewhere in the approximately one thousand places an S3 can let in air - instead of using starter fluid to find it, put a 3 foot section of hose on the end of a propane torch (unlit of course) and poke around at the base of the runners and all of the hose connections under the intake. Don't forget to check the base of the MAF, it's very easy to not seat it correctly as the o-ring is quite stiff initially. On my car I found three hoses and two runners that were letting in air when I was absolutely sure that I had torqued the clamps and bolts down correctly.
