Guessing you could figure out a way to get the car sitting on 4 stands plus the lift itself for the times when your world moves unexpectedly.
No number of stands is equivalent to a dead man. Maybe you don't understand the concept?

Perhaps you should re-read my post. I understand it way too well. I've had the displeasure of lifting a car off a body when the car fell off a jack. Also lived in SoCal where seismic disturbances were the norm. Big stands at low heights to reduce the risk, but there's no 100% safe solution in under or around a car during a serious quake even when it's just sitting on its wheels. The danger is always in the back of my mind.

Mine too. I always try to have a planned escape route and clear that area of tools and parts. Try to limit my time under there as well.

Just ordered a Quickjack 5000 down here in Oz - apparently ordered from US when A$ was higher - US$1675 delivered with both types of rubber blocks. Looking forward to using it, although too late to help with current belt & alternator job.

I have really enjoyed mine so far. Use it one the 928, the 911 and my (now gone) Boss 302.

I love the quickjack but at a maximum of only 22 inches with blocks of clearance it's not the best. I will either go with a scissor lift or 2 posts lift.

Horrible customer service with the Q-Jack, and I could have lost my car off it. See this link: https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...-thoughts.html

MaxJax Tilt is on sale at Home Depot right now for $899. I've heard a lot of opinions about it, but nobody with first hand experience. I e-mailed the company last night haven't heard back from them yet if it can lift a Porsche, specifically a 996 model 911.
