Default Made in Western Germany

Back when I got my 1st 928, in 2001 or so, I got some parts that were still labelled "Made in Western Germany." A couple of relays with good shelf life.

When was the last time you got an NOS part from West Germany? What was it?

I ordered the rainforcement profile (928 505 253 02) for the lower edge of the rear bumper this spring. Made in W Germany 1986!!! Very nice for my 1986 928S.

I bought a oil filter from my local Porsche dealership in Thousand Oaks.It said Made in W Germany. I wonder how long it sat on the shelf...

928Intl is chock full of NOS parts with W. Germany stickers on the bags. They're still out there in the supply chain, at least the slower parts of the chain..

If it wasn't on the label it doesn't count.

An obscure body part seems like a good candidate for a long shelf life.

I have many CS specific parts NOS from Porsche, or somewhere else.
Most of them are dated around September 1987, nearly 6 months before the official launch of the model!

The battery in my key says made in West Germany, after cleaning the contacts it still lit up the bulb a little.
