Here is #458 in the Phoenix area. Nice price. Will need a ton of work but owner says it currently runs. Love the color combo, but that interior is probably blown out under all the covers. Still, if this was local to me I'd be over there tomorrow.

Ah hah! Ok. Got it. Yeah, it probably didn’t leave the factory with black carpet and linen door panels. My bet would be less than thorough color change during carpet redo: Linen carpet likely mahogany after 25+ years. “Too challenging” to replace door carpet (or to properly install carpet around engine brain case, fan ecu, e-brake, don’t get me started...)

Shocked. Shocked I am, to see a 30-year-old 928 with stories

A solid start to your next OB project for sure . Great colors and looks complete. Nice service history as well. Lots to like here.

Mike - would love to see the Carfax on it. There was a red GT just like that in Pittsburgh a number of years back, being mistakenly marketed as an S4 by the dealer. He had it at the PVGP advertised as such. I tried to tell him it was a GT and worth thousands more, but he insisted he was right. I almost bought it myself (I should have, looking back on it). Anyway, I posted a note about it up here (which I can no longer find), and one of the MI crew promptly bought it. He then unfortunately totaled it about a week or so after getting it. It could be the same car?

That car has been talked about here somewhere. It was a very nice So Cal GT that had a minor engine fire.

Yes, mentioned here a couple of times by me. Greg and Mark knew the last owner and he was interested in selling it for $15k ~2 years ago when I contacted him. Didn't buy it bc I was actually sane at that time and didn't want more than 2-3 928s at one time!

Looks like the current Porsche seller (specializes in the "rough" salvaged Porsche cars) bought it but didn't bother with adding the intake tubes and air pump filter.

Selling dealer says he doesn't know why the salvage title and no service records. Offered to me $30,500. Didn't like my offer of $18,500. If anybody can dig up old threads quickly, would be some interesting forensics. Hoi, it's like I need another 928 but a red GT to go with my black GT would be nice bookends.

BTW - BAT no longer wishes to sell "projects" - only cream puffs. I reminded them of their domain name, but to no avail.

Exactly. There are 6 current auctions with the word "project" in the title. So, yeah, not sure what they are tellin' ya Brandon.
