That's pretty awesome and if you own the La Ferrari, why not. I guarantee that BaT didn't set the reserve on this one like they do for all other auctions. I'm sure the exposure they will get will be worth more than any commission they would have received on a lower-than-owner-desired reserve. Plus if they want people to bring more hyper exotics than they have to protect against it selling anywhere near under the perceived market. Good deal for buyer's too since the BaT commission is capped at $5K. What's the commission at the big auction houses on stuff like this,10%? That is hundreds of thousands of dollars savings! Crazy.

Marketing 101 on BAT's part...that car won't reach reserve, it's there strictly for the eyeballs, but, I could be wrong.

BaT's LaFerrari "...is so choice. If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up."

I'm really watching just to see how close your estimate is VS the sale value. I'm thinking your gonna be really close.

Kudos to the seller for publicly addressing the issue of the water pump. If properly sourced and installed, that's a major item of concern that the prospective buyer can now check off the list.

I am sure the seller will not mind me telling you that he just ordered the complete timing belt kit.
Gates belt, Laso WP, tensioner rebuild kit, rollers, cam & oil pump gears, all seals.

It'll be interesting to see if the TB/WP issue gives some bidders cold feet. Hopefully not as he is doing the right thing by getting parts sourced by Roger and taking the time to get it fixed properly. Wonder who is doing the job though?

I was wondering the same thing. He could have easily kept the issue of the noisy pump to himself and quietly had it repaired while the auction ran. That would have been completely legit in my book. Instead he fully disclosed the issue as well as detailed the remedy. I'd think that this would give prospective buyers confidence in the car vs. cold feet..so long as they're aware that the water pump is a maintenance item...

A little surprised BAT allowed a reserve up to that amount..and that's a good thing. T

It blows my mind the deals I have lost over being honest with people. The littlest stuff can run someone off. Being honest has not come back to bight me, but dang. I have seen someone walk away over a power antenna not working.

I'm back to being stuck on the Euro car..I can get it for about $20k

I really like it, but am being told by my local porsche mechanic that I should go with the 32v motor as the 16v engines are slow (in his opinion). Admittedly, hes never driven a Euro Spec 4.7L engine but did admit that the car looks pretty unique.

Would any one mind whos driven the 4.7L Euro motor mind chiming in with their thoughts...

TIA

The 16v S2 cars are way faster, more fun than the S3.
I have both and no comparison. The S2 screams above 3500 rpm.

I wrote this Euro 16v vs S4 32v comparison a few years ago
