And the DS cap coil is facing up. Nice way to catch rain.

Next up over at BaT. Black on Black '88 S4 5-speed with 66K miles. The 5-speed black over black cars seem to do very well over there. I'm predicting low to mid 30's on this one. TB/WP/AC done recently. Plus owner looks to have a few 911's in his garage so likely took good care of this one in the short time he had it.

Nice looking car. At first glance the mileage seems to be consistent with the d/s outer bolster, clutch pedal and engine bay (assuming there wasn't an intake refinish). Unless it's the elephant in the room, you'd think the seller would address the questions regarding "potential mileage rollback" that allegedly occurred before his purchasing the car per Carfax.
EDIT:
NM. He just addressed it. Seems like a legitimate answer to me. A head-scratcher: why would anyone risk turning back the clock only a few thousand miles? Probably a Carfax error.
I'll be curious to see what a well presented honest black on black '88 5 speed goes for.

I cant but if it is that would be sweet. I have an old magazine issue that has an article about these. I'll have to dig it out again. It would be an odd thing to replicate if it's not the real deal.

I definitely don't have the practiced eye like you. What are you seeing here specifically? I see that the hose had to be rerouted for the aftermarket radiator, but other than that what is the issue? And what is the orange ring around the PS reservoir cap about? I've never *seen* that before.

Well, it doesn't look like the one on the cover. But, maybe they made different stiles. I have the whole article scanned, though I haven't had time the read it. Is this the article you were thinking of Nate?

^ Yep that's it! I have the same issue. Go ahead and post the article if you already have it scanned. If I remember correctly it has some cool pictures of the all the equipment in the t-top, like this:

^ Nice. If you have the magazine handy, I believe I remember seeing a cool ad in there for the targa bar stereo system.

Alex, here are pics of the targa from back 81....different front bumper, no euro side marker and look at that interior!

It does have the stereo on the targa center brace.

Default Spoiler on the B+B

idk, but the nose of the ebay car is different than the nose of the original B+B Targa in the 1980 r&t article.

btw: totally dig the seats/floor mat combo... in the original car
