Doesn't start per seller after owning it for 2 years. Supposed to be an ignition issue. If outside looks like this with rusts and dry cracks on the rubber window trim, wondering what the inside looks like. Will take ~$30k for restoration (engine, interior recovered, exterior repainted). Guy won't meet at the car, will only "take you there" in around Newark. Maybe $1500-2000. Do love petrol blue.

This one looks real promising. Prussian blue? '86.5 serviced by Greg Brown. Recent timing belt, respray, nice interior, original radio, working AC and only asking $12K

1981 27k mi on eBay: caught my eye b/c it's nearly identical to my 81. Mine has 16" wheels and no rub strips. It's no reserve and currently at $23k.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/1981-Porsch...19.m1438.l2649
When I looked at the pics, I noticed the full leather dash, pod and console. The stitching didn't look quite right either.... Hadn't seen many equipped like that so I googled the VIN WP0JA0929BS820347
It looks great and really fresh....
Found it here:

It has a black pod and the leather shrinkage on the dash is pretty bad especially for a 27k mi car. Not saying there is anything wrong with this 928 but, that's a pretty significant omission from the eBay description if you're accurately representing the car....

Same seller as the guy on Hemmings. He bought it off ebay for ~$37,700 and subsequently has installed the included original radio and recharged the AC. Taking a loss but he says he just saw another car that he wanted.

I looked at this car last year on the way back from a Rocky Mountain road trip. The owner is a real nice guy, and definitely not a 928 expert, but did his best to represent the car. Once your eyes move away from the wing, you will see that the biggest issue is the paint: a rattle can quality respray on the back half of the car, starting at the windshield. Somebody screwed up the clutch install so that needs to come out, the second gear servo or synchro is going bad (but is quite driveable with some care) and the fuel system needs gone through, which is probably no big deal. The interior doesn't exactly support the mileage (the front seats need recovered) and neither does the documentation, but with some help and a glass of wine, you might be able to believe the mileage. The car is worth saving, but it's probably going to need a fair bit more than it's worth today.

OK somebody local to this one has to check it out. 87 S4 for $3,800. Project level. Looks like it hasn't ran or been on the road for a few years but that interior looks really nice. Original finish on the wheels looks in good condition also. If the paint and body are also nice then it's definitely worth a roll of the dice for that price.
