That car has to have 4x the listed mileage. No way is that a 14k car.

I take it you've not R&R'd that many water pumps. Sometimes the heads of the bolts just snap off no matter how 'careful' you are. If the bolts have been in the holes for 20 years, or if they were crappy bolts, there's nothing you're gonna be able to do; you will be drilling them out if they snap. And they always snap right at the block. Then, with the motor in the engine bay it is neither fun, easy, or quick to drill-out the rest of the bolt. It isn't fun, easy or quick even with the block on a stand.

On the invoice, they charged 6 hours of labor for drilling-out the 5 bolts. I didn't see a mention of TimeSert or Helicoil replacements. Maybe, then, they were able to save the threads. If so, then whoever did it was better and quicker at it than I am. I don't have to drill out bolts 'all the time' and while I've done dozens over the years, I still consider myself a 'novice.' I doubt I'd have been able to drill-out 5 pump bolts and save all 5 holes' threads in under 6 hours. Though, I probably wouldn't have charged more than one hour of labor per bolt.

I won't deride the labor charges on the invoice. But, I'd also like to hear what Stan, Sean, Greg et.al. think about the bolt drilling charge.

There are more-egregious things on it. For example: $1+ for M10 nuts and washers. $20 worth of wheel weights...

No...I've done my fair share...some hjave gone with no issues and some not. To date, I haven't lost 5 bolts though. I usually try and PB blaster and do other things prior to cranking on the those 10mm heads...that's what I mean by careful.

For sure - Both the engine bay and the underside of that car tells you all you need to know. Way more mileage than 14k - IMHO

Some of you guys may have heard of Pcarmarket. If you haven't it is basically Bring a Trailer but exclusively for Porsches. I think they just went live with their first auctions last week. Their first 928, a 94 GTS, will be going up in 18 days. It will be interesting to see how much traction this site gains.

It has he same format as BaT, except for a very useful section called “Deal Tank”, where any registered user can deal for a car that’s not met reserve.

Major competition for BaT for a very large car enthusiast brand, Porsche, where it seems to take 25% of all BaT vehicles at any one time.

i predict BaT will start to take some cars that it would otherwise pass last month.

This is the same one that went RNM on BaT a few weeks back. Now back on CL for $15K.

She's mine now. Purred like a kitten as we cruised 250 miles to her new garage.

Yes James Morrisons former GTS, will be up for auction on the site. My tech Carrera Car Shop serviced it once it landed in NY. I put together the deal for the original NY buyer to obtain it and bring it to NY, Collector Car Show case.

Looks like the defrost and hazard switches on right side of pod are in the wrong position. Shouldn’t the defrost switch be on top?

Correct. So many red flags on this one.
