They have two other cars listed as well. All crack head prices. This is Engineered Automotive a well know shop in Toronto, they have open houses throughout the summer and seem to have a good reputation.

Yellow 88 with 4k km's, improperly listed as a GT. But it's wrapped and they are asking 180k
Grey 87 with 28 k miles but it has been painted grey (Over rose per this listing), asking 65k

This car sold in 2015 with 64K on the odo...now 3+ years later it has a TBF at 66K? Looks like the buyer in 2015 was "had". Prior to 2015 it was listed for sale with 42K on the odo...what a shame it didn't receive proper care/maintenance to end up like this.

Red over black ‘85, auto, no rub strips and a clean-looking engine bay (with post cover!) about 25 minutes up the road if anybody wants eyes on it. No affiliation and I haven’t seen any service records.

Default Amante GT?

I'm not sure what's going on here. Seller says the body is a '69 Amante GT married to an '84 928.

So for the "Non-racers" in the room.....an answer form someone who may have better input....Is this a CRACK PRICE for a car in this condition? From first glance as a "been around racing, but I'm not a racer" perspective this seems like a crazy number for this car! Just curious.

The Ford Maverick taillights should be worth at least $7k.

Well, at least it isn't trying to look like a Porsche. Aside from the fact that the body doesn't fit the wheels, I kinda like the body design. He notes the Porsche suspension intact, but I wonder how it corners from that height??

The price is nuts w/o knowing how well it tracks and the HP/weight ratio. If he won't take $10K, he is going to have to store it.

New on BaT. '79 Euro Auto, Opal Metallic over Pasha with 79k miles and no rubbies. Anyone know if this is the one that's been floating around on eBay and FB?

IIRC there are no MY79 euro "S" models..."S" started with the MY80 euro. The ad states: "It retains front and rear spoilers, and the import tag mounted on the driver’s door sill lists a manufacture date of May 1980 despite a 1979-model year VIN." Rob can run a VIN check if it is indeed a MY80. Also noticed it has the rear DOT side markers on the rear fenders and not on the front fenders ? The 3 speed auto was a bit sluggish off the line but once running about 50+ it goes pretty good. Note that that brn/blk pascha is starting to disintegrate and if replacing it will be with the next best thing...blk/tan. T
Wiki:
1979

Model designation: 928
  • Power: 240 PS (177 kW) / 219 hp (163 kW) (North America)
  • Changes:
    • Battery box integrated as part of the body, was previously mounted to gearbox.
    • Gearbox shocks deleted.
1980
Model designation: 928 / 928 S (only 928 in North America)
  • Engine displacement: 4.5 L / 4.7 L (S model only)
  • Valves: 16
  • Power: 240 PS (177 kW) (4.5) / 300 PS (221 kW) (4.7 S) / 229 HP (167 kW) for North America only.
  • Changes:
    • Higher 10.0:1 compression ratio engine (except North America) 4.5 L model. Same power, i.e. 240 PS (177 kW) but more torque, 380 Nm instead of 350 Nm.
    • Bosch L-Jetronic injection in North America.
    • Addition of "S" model, shown at Frankfurt in September 1979.[2] The 928 S was not available in North America until 1983. Front & rear spoilers. Larger brakes.
    • Manual gearbox changed during model year requiring shorter torque tube and different rear subframe.
    • "S" brakes installed during model year except North America.

^ Good points Tony. Ad also states engine size as 4.5L and HP output as 296. The data I've seen is 229 HP for both the M28/02, if this is truly a '79, and for the M28/10 if this is actually an '80. 296 HP would be closer to the 300 HP rating of the 4.7L Euro M28/12 motor which was first offered in '80 IIRC.

Default BaT. '79 Euro Auto, Opal Metallic over Pasha

Lots of contradictory info in the listing as Tony points out. If it were an S, it would have the 4.7L. If truly a 79 non-S, someone went to a bit of trouble to make it look like an S - S-style rear window seals to go with the spoiler, 928S decal on rear bumper, front bumper cutouts for brake cooling ducts. What is the year designation in 10 digit VINs? Can you tell from the VIN if S or not?

Notice the H4s; one is for RHD and the other for LHD. Interesting orange reflector on the door end - what year did the illuminated red door end lights appear?

Looks like federalization consisted of sticking on rear side markers and nothing else. It still has the Euro front muffler.

I'm not a fan of the color - always looks dirty - such so you don't even need to wash it for For Sale pictures.

This euro ‘79 auto was asking for $29,900 back in the summer on CL then reposted again in December. Guy sounds like an honest seller. He also ended up buying Jim Doerr’s #78 euro (silver, black/white pascha) that did not sell on BaT (winning bidder didn’t follow through).

He is close to me in NJ (probably 1 hr away) and offered me a deal to buy both.

Hesitated due to the brown black pascha (NLA) with the aftermarket front bumper with the cut outs.

it will be interesting to see where this will end up.
