Mossy is a beauty note it needs to be driven but it’s almost too nice for that
The washer fill tube is orange so the washer tank/ fill tube are filled with rust ,
A coolant change should also be done.
I would take it ,
and go through it ,
then drive it ,
and make sure to take lots of pictures

Default 84 Moss Green

I'm no expert, but the condition of the cad plating (even on the gas cap hinge!) indicate a very good life. It's leather, seats, carpet, plating, etc. is a good example of a "true" low miler.

I talked to them today. They are willing to take 55k, plus I have a 1000k transport fee. I love the car, know its history on here and on BAT. I just think 55k is too high. They say they have 52,500 in it. I need some 928s guidance and this is the best place on earth to get it. Help!

Nice car^^but a bit high on price. Save yourself at least $17,500 (before negotiating) and have a look here :https://www.chequeredflag.com/1984-P...5/Details.aspx Even lower miles, rare color combo, etc.
Or if you just got to have a stick...bidding ends tomorrow

Default 1986.5 Red on Beige 5 speed in St. Louis, MO

I am not sure what to think of the car. Sure, the paint looks great and the interior is very nice.

You say you have the full history? Is there any mention of the whole suspension having been dismantled?

No all original car would like that. Where is the cosmoline that turns dark brown with age? Porsche used to love to smoother everything in it.

Heck, this is in my neck of the woods. He listed it as beg in McCordsville, IN... yet he took the pictures in a park in Carmel, IN. I live halfway in between the two.

Little late now, but if somebody want real eyes to review this car, I can make that happen. Sure looks sweet!

I'd buy that Moss Green one if it was a stick. Believe me, I've been following the one on BAT. I know the extensive restoration the red went through on this forum. That's the only reason I even considered it. If I buy it, they will bury me with it, since I'll be buried in it financially.

Yes that car was purchased by a Rennlist member and restored. The restoration process was reported almost daily on a thread he started. You can pull it up in the search function. He then sold it on BAT for 52k 2 years ago.

Yes, that red 86.5 is a Brenden C resto, and should be considered damn near perfect. If you are in the market, and you plan to spend up to get a really good one, that is one of the ones to get.

I'm going to respectfully disagree with you on this one Tony. First, the green one is an 84, and an auto. Big difference between it and either of those 86's. As to the BaT 86, it has not gone under an engine out restoration like Brenden's car. While I think the BaT Prussion blue is spectacular, the red 86.5 is better by any metric in my book. Also, that BaT 86.5 is already at $30K, and it still has a ways to go.

That said I was pointing out a few more 928's the buyer may have missed and saved some $$. First, the green one is an 84, and an auto. Yep..and has only 22,xxx miles, is less $$ and a somewhat rare color combo...also appears to be mostly original. I found out a little later the buyer wanted a 5spd so I mentioned the 86.5 Prussian Blue on BAT. Big difference between it and either of those 86's. As to the BaT 86, it has not gone under an engine out restoration like Brenden's car. At the time I did not know this was Branden's 86.5 and the work performed....yes that matters. While I think the BaT Prussion blue is spectacular, the red 86.5 is better by any metric in my book. The Prussian Blue 86.5, w/two-tone interior is a somewhat rare color combo and where I saw value. Doesn't hurt it's a one owner car. Also, that BaT 86.5 is already at $30K, and it still has a ways to go. IIRC Hoi estimated the hammer will drop at 35k with 18 hours to go ...still 17k less than the 86.5 red car. It all comes down to what the buyer likes best, ex: 5spd, color combo., etc. that works within his budget.02 T
