Agreed, being a Japanese destination vehicle from new it should have both the front & rear flairs from the factory. Somewhere along the way this car was likely modified/painted to have them removed...possibly after an accident. Interior looks too good for an 80K car...refreshed and shined up for a resale.

86.5 auto that appears to be Prussian Blue. Seller says: "Greg Brown of 928 Motorwerks in Anaheim did an inspection said it was a solid California car." Might be some engine bay, undercarriage pics in the dropbox link on the eBay listing:https://www.ebay.com/itm/1986-Porsch...5bs8zi&vxp=mtr

Default 86.5 blue auto

looks interesting Tony. I can see it has a dash and pod cap - the kind that warp. seats look good.

Hi Ed, Yes appears this 86.5 has spent a bit of time in the sun but still appears to be in overall nice condition. The dropbox link on this eBay side does not work for me...maybe someone with a dropbox account can download some pics of the engine bay and undercarriage then post up here ? Bidding so far has been comical even though there does not appear to be a reserve. As usual...I've got no dog in this fight T

Yup. You are right, I’m twice wrong. This ‘87’ mistake is stuck in my head hard. This is what seems to be true: Circlip disappears after 84. Driveshaft accommodation for circlip disappears after 86. Still TBF (non-belt kind) seems almost(?) unheard of on pre-‘87.

My 928 is tentatively up for sale if someone offers the right price.

I've changed jobs and don't have the time for it anymore.

86.5
120K miles

More pictures/info available upon request.

make sure to mention its had a recent intake refresh and lots of other sorted out things, including a hot post cover.
GLWS you might try BaT
The way things are going you might get more than what you paid for it and, you got to drive it to boot!

Yes, it's a great car.

It's why I feel it's a shame to leave it sitting in storage.

All of a sudden the market is a sea of Prussian Blue:

Bring A Trailer

86.5 Auto, purportedly mileage in low 40k range. Jump post cover but no 14 pin cover - how do we react to that?

I had a 930 several years ago that was Prussian Blue. Totally awesome color! Sometimes it looks blue, sometimes purple. (It's much more attractive in person than that sounds.)
Too bad one of those couldn't have been a 5-speed.
