He wasn't referencing your car. He was replying to Dave in a post above yours RE: the GTS on BAT.

Yes Desmoines is correct. Dz, your car looks to be a bit underpriced in my humble opinion. I know the cosmetics are a bit rough, but it sounds like a good runner. Seems like a lot of car for just a hair under $6K, when a non-running roller can go for almost half that in some places

Guess the current seller bought it and found many things inoperable, like the AC (it was supposed to be "serviced" by the last owner in NJ), horn, cruise control, and there's a dent on the body. Also, no service history.

Original asking price 6 months ago in Delaware was $20k with the dash just done.

Still may be worth it since you're in California if one wants to keep it. Not so much from here in the east coast. However at this price, after fixing the AC and other mechanical bits, don't see low mileage pristine '80-'84 selling much higher than $30k to make it worth while if one wants to make money.

Thanks Hoi - I remember this car now. This does look like a nice car (from a distance), but not exactly in a condition that would warrant full price. Do you know what happened to the silver "fraud" 78 and its disreputable seller?

This sold originally in Houston a few months back. It did around 4200 of memory serves plus fees and transport. It's now at Newburgh being sold by a dealer. Bid yesterday up to 3500ish and was a no sale. I am always wary of these dealer cars. They found something they didnt like and are now trying to get out from under it. Plus it has parts only paperwork which requires some fancy footwork to make into a registerable title again. I like the car alot but it sets off some red flags for sure. I will give them credit for listing the secondary damage as mechanical which the insurance company did not first time around

Know the car, It has been serviced somewhat by my Tech Peter Potzinger of Carrera Car Shop. I rate it as a good # 3+ Driver in its current condition. Wouldnt take much to make a 2+ daily Driver. Good strong runner. Great car as a daily driver as is and a good candidate for a Concours restoration if thats what your into.

This one isn't far from me. In the higher price range, but really well presented.
